Your wedding bouquet: our tips to choose the perfect flowers

The moment you choose your wedding bouquet is one of the most awaited moments for every bride-to-be. You will compose yours depending on your wedding gown and Elisabetta always suggests to choose harmony above all and to let the flowers express your personality, just like your dress… but how much do you know about flowers already? Let’s see some varieties of flowers that you can choose for your bouquet!

Among the most classic choices, we have the queens of every bouquet: roses, of course. Did you know there are about 150 species of roses in this world? Other very classic choices are orchids (they also come in many shapes and colors), gerberas, anthurium, lisianthus and lilium. A practical distinction you coud make to begin with is dividing flowers depending on their seasonality: there are summer and fall flowers, winter flowers and of course flowers that bloom in spring. Summer and fall flowers are sunflowers, daisies, colored callas, hydrangeas and lavender. Among winter and spring flowers you can find peony, peach blossoms, tulips, lilies of the valley, white callas, camellias, carnations, hyacinths, lilacs, freesias, irises and paradise flowers.

Don’t forget the greens in your bouquet, because they’re what it takes to support and decorate your flowers. They keep the stems fresh until the moment you’ll throw the bouquet to your girlfriends and they make your bouquet look beautiful and balanced.

Each flower has also specific features and symbolic meanings that make it unique and special. Roses are the most romantic ones, they symbolize beauty and love. Camellias symbolize devotion and commitment, and the solution of every problem in the name of love. Irises symbolize hope and faith, and a good wish for new beginnings.
