A very Vespa wedding.
“The most emotional moment? Listening to my sister singing during the ceremony and during the celebration afterwards. Our friends have been amazing too: they organized so many games and inside jokes!”. Here’s how Roberta and Andrea’s story begins: their most important day was on last July 26th. They celebrated their wedding in Meina, on Lake Maggiore.
They said their “I do” in the church of San Giovanni Battista in Briga Novarese. She came on a vintage Fiat 500. He arrived on a Vespa motorcycle from the ‘50s. “The same we used for our invitations: we sent our guests a picture where we were both sitting on a Vespa”, says Roberta. A very Vespa wedding, we’d say. Their preparations required approximately one year. The Vespa was also the queen of the tableau, while the color lilac was the dominating one in the decorations.
The bride chose baby white roses for her bouquet. The dress was of course by Elisabetta Polignano. “I already knew Elisabetta” – tells Roberta – “I showed her a few pictures of dresses that amazed me and she immediately got what my style was. The gown was white, simple, but yet extremely fine and elegant: it was a delicate mix of silk, with a soft drapered corsage. “As soon as I tried it, I immediately felt that it was my dress. I felt something like an inner shake and a rush of joy and excitement”.
Talking about the bride’s hairstyle, Roberta kept her hair up on a side, “with many braids” – she describes – “and several light points: it was magnificent!”.
The bride was welcomed in the church on the notes of “Hallelujah” by Leonard Cohen: a ceremony that was warmed by the love of her dearest ones, so authentic and poignant.
Just like the choice of not presenting the classic bonbonnieres: Roberta and Andrea chose one of the deepest acts of love instead: they made a long distance adoption, and adopted a baby girl.
