Touring the world’s weddings: top curiosities!

While frantically organizing your wedding, between a hair styling appointment and the choice of the guests, have you ever wondered about other countries’ weddings? This post will take you far away, on an imaginary journey among different cultural habits and traditions, or at least among some of their top curiosities.

So here we go, our first stop is Thailand: married couples here receive the blessings of six different monks. Then they dip their hands in sacred water. In India, according to the Hindu ritual, bride and groom both receive a massage with scented oils and, once they’re declared husband and wife, all the guests throw colorful flower petals to them. Another Asian lovely ritual is the Japanese one: both bride and groom wear fancy kimonos and they should drink three times from the same sakè cup.

In many other countries, dance is the real symbolic protagonist during wedding celebrations. In Jordan, all the couples that get married under the Christian ritual are usually involved in enduring dances, which leave little room for dinner for most of the guests. Long dancing sessions are typical in Poland too, which alternate their dining with many different dancefloor twirls. Argentinian weddings are also very much danced: during the celebrations, the colorful Carnival Carioca takes place and every guest dances while wearing stunning masks.

Every corner of the world has its own tradition and this is our first post about how different countries share their wedding habits. Just let your imagination flow and get inspired by the culture you feel closer to!
