Tips for your bridal shoes and underwear
For those of you who read us from abroad we know it’s hard to have the lucky chance to meet Elisabetta at her Italian trunk shows and runway shows, where she has the lovely habit to chat with future brides and to give them some timely and relevant style tips for their weddings. It’s amazing to see how she dedicates herself to her brides open-heartedly, doing the best that she can to make them feel tranquil about their style choices, and excited about their love adventure at the very same time. After one of her last Italian runway shows, Elisabetta stopped by with a group of brides, who even stood in line to talk to her. Most questions are always about the dresses, but this time we want to share with you her tips about the type of bridal shoes and underwear you should choose to keep your wedding look in good harmony.
First off: simplicity is a must, talking about underwear. On your wedding day, the dress is king, so bras and undies shouldn’t show much. They should actually “blend with your gown” and avoid to subtract any attention from it. Opt for something plain whose color matches the color of your dress, and in particular, choose a bra that gives value to your neckline. When it comes to shoes, avoid flat models that can worsen your posture and step. If you hate high heels, we hear you, and don’t worry: 1.2 inches are enough to keep your back straight and safe and your figure elegant, so feel free to choose the height you’re most comfortable with. If you love high heels instead, keep in mind your long term energy (can you bear them all day long?) and remember that 4 inches are already a good height to let you show the best out of your dress. If it’s summer, sandals are perfectly fine! The heat shouldn’t make you feel uncomfortable, so if you find a model that matches your gown, go for it. Think this way: you would finally have a perfect excuse for that mani-pedi you were longing for! Just opt for neutral or pastel colors for your nail polish, so that they won’t give much contrast to your white, pearl, cream, dove grey, ivory or silver gown, or choose them in accordance with your gown color if it’s yellow, gold, orange, red or of any other brighter and bolder color. If your gown is rich in lace and decorations already, try to avoid embroidered sandals or stiletto’s, but go ahead with pearls, crystals or other tiny and delicate light points if it’s a simpler one.
