The sky in a room: Silvia and Emanuele’s wedding story
The wedding proposal came one night that looked like any other, when she was not even expecting it anymore: “It’s been a huge surprise because he had told me that he was not ready to get married and I accepted it quietly, since I was sure of our love” – says Silvia, still visibly excited. “That night, after I came home from work, I found a surprise candle light dinner prepared just for me”. Emanuele, now her husband, proposed to her on September 20th 2013. Exactly one year later, they both pronounced their eternal “I do”. “It’s been an emotively rich and marvelous day”, she says, at the beginning of her wedding story.
The catholic ritual was held in the church of Sant’Anna Morosina in San Giorgio in Bosco, near Padua. The family celebrations took place afterwards in Villa Garbinati, an elegant ancient villa in the area of Vicenza. “We wanted to celebrate in a poignant way” explains the bride, “enjoying every single moment as if it was only ours”. The ceremony was accompanied by a soprano, a violin and organ music and it was really touching. “Emanuele bursted out into tears of joy!”.
Teal was the predominant color, “the one of our eyes”, says Silvia. Abundant lisianthus flowers were used for the decorations and for the bride’s bouquet, in white and baby pink. The tableau was realized with a white frame covered in tulle; the names of different fairy tales were used to pinpoint different guest tables.
Silvia is the owner and general manager of a beauty center, so she found her own unique solution for her make-up styling: “I wanted a nude and natural make-up. I dreamed to pair it with a gown that felt unique. I tried many, but struggled to find the one that truly felt mine”. She found it at last, white and refined, by Elisabetta Polignano: “It blew my mind: the fabric and the fit were so special, it looked like a sculpture: when I tried it, I felt the most beautiful woman in the world!”.
Silvia and Emanuele’s celebrations, which lasted until the late evening, were made even more evocative by the private fireworks and the moment when their little niece sang “Controvento” for them: “This was a private gift from me to Emanuele” explains Silvia, “I feel really attached to this memory now. Our song is “Il cielo in una stanza” by Gino Paoli, however, because it literally puts in words the magic of our love”.
For their honeymoon, the couple chose the Mauritius Islands. Right after their wedding, they left for Paris, though. The lovers’ city, after all.
