Second dress rehearsal: the perfect sizes

It’s the one you recognize with your heart; the one, which entirely reflects your personality and enhance your uniqueness: it’s your wedding dress. But what happens after you have chosen it? In this fourth episode of My Wedding Dress you will see how this exclusive gown comes to life, by following Rachele’s second dress rehearsal.

“I couldn’t wait to see my wedding dress again!” – says Rachele, whom you had already met in our previous episode, when we showed you the dress choice. Today, in Elisabetta Polignano’s main atelier in Oleggio, you will watch her wear the first tailormade version of the dress.

“Rachele is living a dream. It’s all about lovely things coming to her life, it’s a beautiful tale we’re all living with her, she’s not living it alone”, says her mom Antonietta. Our “Bride 2015” is accompanied by her best friend Eleonora, who claims: “Usually Rachele never plans anything, but this is a special occasion and she’s really different: she’s really excited, she’s so amused”. Eleonora was the one who signed Rachele up to our casting 2.0 and who stood by her side also during the live casting which we held last October in Milan.

For the second dress rehearsal the shoes are very important, says Elisabetta Polignano: “the shoes are those which determine the exact length of the dress”. The underwear may be crucial too, “due to the wearability of the bodice”. In this video, the stylist describes all the creative phases of a tailor made, handcrafted dress: “My inspiration comes from a mix of emotions and inputs I get from the outside” – she reveals, while she sketches on a blank sheet of paper. “When I feel ready, I grab my pencil and I just start drawing. It’s the pencil that drives me and it follows my heart”.

A tiny, final tip for you and for every bride-to-be about your wedding hair style and make-up: “Styling and make-up have to be simple, never exaggerated. The bride must feel comfortable and still recognize herself”.
