Relax and Renew! Spring is in the air…
Hey there, has springtime reached your part of the world yet? For many of us, this season is almost in full swing and it brings a refreshing energy: this is the best time of the year to cleanse our body and start a new diet, a detox, a new beauty care.
According to the Chinese Medicine, spring is the season related to the liver, to the green color, to the energy of the wind: there you go! What is happening in nature is symbolic of what is happening in your own body during this time of the year. So let’s follow the wisdom of Mother Nature in three steps.
1. Purify
The liver is the organ specialized in filtering toxins that have built up inside our body. A healthy liver means a successful purification, it is the main organ for detoxification. Pay attention to the food you eat, the cosmetic you put on your skin, the air you breathe and even those angry emotions: any kind of toxin, both on physical and emotional plan, makes your liver work hard.
2. Let go
Speaking of emotions, springtime is a great opportunity to get rid of stuff you don’t need anymore and get a fresh start. This is valid for making your space cleaner and tidier at home or at the office, for example. But it also goes for your emotional space: release old memories, attachments, feelings that are still intoxicating you. Try yoga and meditation.
3. Rest
A balanced detox includes plenty of rest and proper exercise. Chinese Medicine teaches us that springtime is related to the liver and that this organ is related to movement and exercise. Enjoy some time of relaxation each day and get your balance with the proper amount of physical exercise. Walking in nature, for example, works very fine.
