A wedding on the road: Andreas and Alessia’s wedding story

Amsterdam, Rotterdam, London, Paris. Also Normandy, Mont Saint-Michel and Lacanau Océan’s surf paradise: this wedding on the road is a story full of emotions.

The story belongs to Alessia and Andreas, who made their honeymoon on a motorbike and travelled around Europe. “Our honeymoon was so unique!” says Alessia, still visibly excited. The couple said their “I do” to each other three years ago, on June 3rd 2012, near Novara, Italy. The celebrations were made in Villa Carlotta of Belgirate, on Lake Maggiore: “We liked the idea of celebrating with our guests on the lake”, explains Alessia, “and we were fascinated by this location”. Andreas made his bride a surprise gift right on the lake’s shore: “It was a vintage Vespa from 1975, completely restored by him, I was so moved and speechless when I saw it!”. Both bride and groom are indeed huge Vespa fans, as their wedding decorations could tell: they chose the prestigious Italian motorbike as their wedding theme: RSVP cards, wedding favors and the tableau were all Vespa themed. The cards had an illustration of the couple riding a Vespa and the tableau had different Vespa models to indicate each guests’ table. Flowers were all around as well, and Alessia chose gerberas, white lilies, and Ocean Song roses. Her wedding dress was by Elisabetta Polignano, of course, whom she discovered through a friend: “Elisabetta was amazing with me, she immediately understood what I was looking for. I surely wanted a simple model, a gown in white with a long train and an even longer veil. I wanted something simple, that anyway could make me feel like a princess. It was love at first sight as soon as I tried it, I felt so light with all that tulle! Lace on the corset made it pretty precious, too”, she says. Alessia has a half-up hairdo decorated with pearls. The groom chose the bouquet: “I saw it on my wedding day for the first time, when he gave it to me in front of the church: orange blossoms and red roses. It was wonderful, and I loved the contrast with my white dress!”.
