The perfect skin care for every bride: our tips from Zaira Fontaneto

Beauty is all about self care. If you want to be really gorgeous on the most magical day of your life, there’s only one (not real) secret to keep in mind: you have to take care of yourself constantly and way in advance. The tips you’re going to find here are evergreen and you can treasure them even after your wedding.

We only want to give you the best advices, so we asked a few suggestions to Zaira Fontaneto: she’s a well established make-up artist in Milan who works with many brides, as well as on different advertising campaigns, commercials and TV productions. Here’s her first tip: “First of all, we often forget that we have to work on our inside, to look great on the outside, especially as far as the skin care is concerned” – says Zaira. “Starting every day with a glass of still water and the juice of an organic lemon is enough to have a bright and amazing skin after just one month. Many girls think that the astringent effect of this skin care could be too aggressive, but there’s nothing to fear, since this solution simply provides an extra daily vitamin load, which we often lack”.

Zaira has no doubt: a good, professional make-up can appear even brighter if you take some little, wise precautions. For example, a limited sunlight exposure and little use of artificial tanning techniques like sunbeds and sun showers is crucial, and helps the skin looking healthier, less thick and less dry, while also allowing long lasting make up stylings. “Something it is pretty useful to apply some cold skincare patches on the lower eyelids on the very wedding morning or the night before, since this prepares the skin for long lasting make ups, – says Zaira: – “When the skin is more tonic and hydrated, it absorbs any product slower. Choose your skincare products wisely and ask advice to your pharmacist, physician or trusted cosmetologist in order to avoid any unexpected allergic reaction”.

Our Zaira has one last tip for us: use your cleansing face lotions every morning and every evening before going to bed, for at least one month before your wedding date. On your wedding eve, apply your moisturizing night face cream before going to bed. On your wedding morning, don’t apply any lotion or day cream: the make up artist will choose the right primer for your skin type”.
