Starry night sky: Luca and Silvia’s wedding story
“Do you know what I did today? I made a reservation at the church for September 3rd 2011”: this is how Luca proposed to Silvia. That long awaited day finally came, after 13 years of engagement. And so their wedding story begins: “At the church’s entrance I told myself I wouldn’t have cried” says Silvia, “I waved at everybody in the street, I was relaxed and felt happy. I was also really excited, of course, but I didn’t really wanted to cry. But when I saw my husband at the end of the aisle I could keep it anymore. And I kissed him immediately!”.
The catholic ceremony was held in the Church of San Martin Bishop in Burano (Italy), where the couple lives. The bestmen were the couple’s mothers, Sabrina and Nelly, dad Stefano, and Francesca, the groom’s sister. For the after party they chose Locanda Cipriani, in Torcello. The choice of the decorations was very well curated: pink was the main color, made precious with Swarowski crystals here and there. The bouquet starred white hydrangeas and roses, fresias and a pink ribbon. The theme of the tableau was their honeymoon destination, the USA: small wooden suitcases were chosen to pinpoint each table, with handwritten indications.
“I spent months surfing through bridal magazines and catalogs”, says Silvia. “But when I tried my dress in the very first atelier, my heart was literally stolen. The curl on the corsage, the flower on the back, the buttery color, the trail was long enough… it was so elegant and sophisticated. When I took it off I noticed the label and I told my mom that I knew it was by Elisabetta Polignano!”. The hair was finely kept up and diamond earrings completed the style.
Among the most romantic moments of their wedding day, the couple can recall the night photo session in Piazza San Marco, in the heart of Venice, under a lovely, starry sky. And of course their first dance as a married couple, with the song “Imbranato” by Tiziano Ferro.
These days, Silvia and Luca’s love story was crowned by the arrival of Alice Ginevra, their cute little daughter: “My wedding dress is now kept safe in my wardrobe”, says Silvia, “Ready for her, if she wants”.
