How to estimate your wedding budget
Wedding preparations might be some of the most exciting things of a person’s life. It’s a moment of overwhelming creativity and a time of your life made to share ideas with your beloved ones and to make small and big dreams happen. Right before you start you absolutely must define your wedding budget: how much are you – honestly – willing to spend? How is that enough to make your ideas come to life? The amount at your disposal can give a precise direction to the type and style of reception you want to organize.
Keep good track of every single expense you are going to face and make your calculations wisely. Collect all the budget estimates from the professionals you’ve chosen (e.g.: wedding planners, catering staff, personal stylist…) and establish a maximum amount you are willing to spend for each category, detail or goal: this will especially help you keep a balance with your decisions and spend your money coherently with your needs and heartfelt ideas. Writing down a list of categories may also be very useful: for example, the wedding styling category of expenses may include the wedding gown, as well as the make-up sessions, or the hair styling. Fill your categories with all the essentials, for example decorations, car rental, or wedding cake costs.
Mind your priorities and calibrate your expenses accordingly. Mind the list of your guests, too: that’s likely to rise the overall costs. Depending on the time of the year in which you’re getting married, choose flowers, food and decorations that grow naturally during your wedding season (remember that rare or non-local flowers and foods are a lot more expensive). If you’re in trouble, consider financial aid: lots of them are given for wedding purposes too. As for the wedding date, weekdays or colder seasons are often much cheaper!
