How to be elegant on your wedding day
Close your eyes and think of your special day: all the joyful tears for your “I do”, all the emotion for having your beloved ones in that moment, a dreamy location to celebrate with all of your guests. If you really want to impress your guests, here’s a few tips on how to be elegant on your wedding day, from good manners manuals and etiquette.
As the Galateo suggests, you should move lightly, avoiding clumsiness. Try to maintain a good posture while sitting. Elbows should be kept off the table, too, as well as your smartphone. Table towels should be put on the knees. The bigger glasses are always for red wines, smaller glasses are for white wines, flutes are for champagne and white sparkling wines. Forks should be put at the plate’s left, knives and spoons should be placed on its right, instead. Forks for first courses should be placed externally. Never touch food with your hands, except bread and bread sticks. You shouldn’t blow on warm foods, and you shouldn’t drink before swallowing your food. Try not to use tooth sticks! If you toast with glasses, “cheers” should be avoided. Glasses should be briefly pulled close even if you are not planning to drink. If your glass is empty, remember to check if your neighbor’s is too, and fill theirs before yours. When you finished your lunch, leave the table towels on top.
Just a little accuracy and you’re ready to go: happy celebrations!
