Honeymoon in Italy, anyone?

From the enchantment of untouched beaches, crystal waters and romantic coves to the breathtaking landscapes on the mountains; from the cultural heritage of medieval boroughs to the fascination of the most historical and artistic towns. These are the waves of charm we are run over when we think about Italy and its beauties, which are surely loved by tourists from anywhere in the world. What about them for your most romantic journey? Have you thought of a honeymoon in Italy? Some very recent market research claims that more and more newly married couples are choosing Italy as their destination. Among the most advised destinations, especially during summer, there are the regions of Puglia, Sicily and Sardinia. The most loved cities still seem to be Rome and Venice, instead. According TripAdvisor, Italy alone has the greatest number of cities in the European top ten!

“We’ve detected a lot more sensitivity in the Italian touristic infrastructure, lately. Hotels and restaurants are also promoting themselves a lot more than they used to”, explains Sabrina, owner of Stopover Viaggi, a travel agency in Novara. “Italy has been chosen quite frequently by Italian couples too recently, especially for quick weekend trips or by those couples who already have kids and don’t want to travel too far”.

Our tip is to always avoid DIY honeymoons in any case: organize your time properly, even if you’re planning to do your honeymoon in location that’s close to where you live. Before departure, remember to collect every document from your local travel agency and don’t forget to bring your wedding certificate or any other kind of official document that certifies your union: you will need it to take advantage to any ‘newly married’ discounts you’ll find around!
