“I do” in New York City: Chiara and Gianfelice’s wedding story

“I remember so many happy moments I can’t decide which is my favorite… Probably the best memory is when we partied at night in Times Square: all the people around us, tourists included, were celebrating with us. Most of them were strangers and they asked us to take pictures with us, they all wished the best for us even if we had never met before!”. So begins Chiara and Gianfelice’s wedding story, who celebrated their wedding in New York City.

Their special day was last October 5th 2015: the couple pronounced their I do’s in the gorgeous and colorful setting of Central Park: “We found our perfect location among the ones suggested by our wedding planners, Anna and Mary. We were looking for a natural scenario that expressed a sense of intimacy, so we chose Shakespeare’s Garden for our celebration”. Their best friends Corrado and Anastasia were also their bestmen on that day. After the civil ceremony held by “the bery elegant Mrs. Rosemary” – adds Chiara – all the guests were welcomed on the Loab Boathouse: “I loved it”, says Chiara, “and it reminded me of Sex and the City the whole time!”.

The couple’s wedding preparations lasted a few months: “We started in March, with many breaks until June”, explains Chiara, “then we started again and our most intense month was definitely September”.

Chiara’s wedding gown, Chiara chose the Atelier Il Giardino Fiorito delle Spose: “I found them thanks to my mother, because she was so impressed with my cousin’s wedding dress, which was bought there. I didn’t want a traditional wedding, so I wanted my dress to be as anti-ordinary as the kind of celebration that I had in mind. This is why I chose a short model that was also tiny in a sense: I was especially worried about the luggages and the trip. The name of the dress is Sissi and is by Elisabetta Polignano. I loved it from the very start!”.

The dress is white, with a corsage in tulle and a little train. No veil for Chiara, just a white shrug suggested by the boutique’s manager, Livia: “Such a delicate choice, I loved her advice”. Chiara’s hairstyle was made precious by a Swarowski jewel. Her bouquet was made by callas and green leaves.

“We’ve always dreamed to get married in the US”, says Chiara, with an emotional voice, “and New York is our favorite city in the world. We had a magic day and we’ll never forget about any single detail of it”.
