2015 Collections: a celebration of femininity in the roaring Twenties’ style

 That heartfelt, emotional stare is still in our eyes. We feel like someone who just got back from an unbelievable journey.

A journey through time and space, and so much road walked. We still find it hard to believe that such an astonishing mix of emotions happened in one room only. The place is Palazzo Durini, in the heart of Milan. What we saw is Elisabetta Polignano’s 2015 collections (EP, Signature, Vision and Privée) and the unbelievable models who showed them to us.

Well, we have a feeling that you may like to dream with us. Here’s why we would love to take you by the hand and welcome you on board of our personal Orient Express.

The 2015 collections, in the aesthetic traits of the dresses and of the fabrics that make them so precious, were made by Elisabetta to celebrate femininity in an excursus in fashion history from liberty to the carefree Fifties. The main focus of the show was on the roaring Twenties.

The shiny fabrics, the elegant glows and the magnificent feathers for the hair, the sleeves, or the epaulettes take us back to the amazing Twenties just as if we were in a dancing whirl in Gatsby’s style.
Laces, embroideries and precious fabrics, together with the deep off-the-shoulder neckline designs, highlight every bride’s femininity, which after all is the femininity of every woman who doesn’t give up on her own special touch of sensuality.

Flutter skirts, long trains and fancy veils that flow lightly on the shoulders are all the delicate ingredients, which kept the romance alive in our eyes during the entire show. Those ingredients are still feeding that romance with soft dreams embroidered with laces and fabrics sewed by expert hands.
In Elisabetta Polignano’s huge closet, there’s space for those dreams, and for even more structured dresses: higher waits, wider skirts and anti-ordinary shrugs give attitude to all of the stylist’s recent creations. The result is astonishing and magic, a pure mix of elegance and creativity. Elisabetta’s attention to detail especially allows her to create little masterpieces with a great balance between sobriety and assertiveness, between the simple lines and the decoration, between the shiny fabrics and the precious laces.

Elisabetta’s fantasy is an open suitcase. It’s a marvelous, open suitcase from which you can admire breathtaking surprises. And which can lead every bride for a day to wherever she wants.
