Romance on the hills: Giulia and Angelo’s wedding story

“Angelo proposed to me on October 17th, 2014: he agreed with my girlfriends to casually stumble upon us during a casual happy hour in a bar. He came with his friends and they started singing that song from Top Gun’s movie theme. Then he got down on bended knee and gave me a ring. It was so poignant because he practically involved all of our best friends, and they all got emotional with us!”. So begins Giulia and Angelo’s wedding story: they pronounced their “I do” ‘s last September 12th, in the docile and green landscape of the Italian region of Emilia-Romagna.

Their wedding preparations lasted about a year and Giulia could count on her fantastic wedding planner Nadia for the whole time: “Nadia was always there and she constantly gave me the best advices. We chose a rural, sort of shabby chic style. I crafted the bonbonnieres under her supervision. My aunt prepared the tableau, which was actually a marvelous gift: it was a big frame that held a canvas which belonged to our family”, she says. “Thanks to my sister I also managed to make some little heart-shaped sugar candies, which I stored in tiny jars decorated with juta and lace”. The main colors of their decorations were white, rose quartz and cream. The couple also made a donation to a group of families whom they met in Nepal after the earthquake: “We hope this will help them with the reconstructions, they all lost their houses”.

Giulia got her wedding dress at Boutique Alba, and she chose a gown by Elisabetta Polignano: “Love at first sight! It’s white and simple, the skirt has a little train. The corsage was tight and all covered in lace. It was the second I tried: it looked perfect, as it was literally designed on my body. I totally fell in love with it!”. Giulia also chose a long veil, with a one-side up hairdo, and a rich bouquet, with pastel colors and country style.
